Just in Case

I keep things. Lots of different things, and for various reasons. I used to be really, really bad about it – keeping tax returns for ten years instead of seven, just in case, you know? And bills? I paid that – see? I marked it paid. And photos – over 90,000 of them. Because somebody might want to write a book about me or my family, and photos are great documentation. Pictures – or it didn’t happen, right?

The biggest problem with keeping things (just in case) is that I can’t find any of it. It’s not like I filed it. But that’s another post.

A couple of weeks ago, I was consolidating all of my email and photo accounts into one place. It gets confusing after a while to have so many different accounts for different things (just in case). Even I recognize that. During the process, I realized I own nine domain names. A couple of them I really intend to you use (one day). Why, you might ask? I’m not entirely sure, but I know it has something to do with me really wanting to be a writer and blogger. (Logical? No.) Plus I like lots of different things – so every topic needs its own website.

My favorite is momsformarshallmathers.com. Yes, I’m a huge Eminem fan, and yes, I know lots of other moms (and women in general) who also worship his music. At one point, I was tweeting about it, and #momsformarshallmathers became one of my hash tags. Oh, I need a blog about that! Buy a domain name, link it to blogger!! DO IT DO IT DO IT! So I did. With that and many others. **guilty face**

But I can’t give them up. Just in case one day I want to use one of them. Or sell them and make my fortune? I’ll be glad they are all in one place, linked to my Google blogger account, unlike my bank statements and photos.
